How your futon sofa will be delivered

Futon sofa frames will be delivered disassembled in cartons, just like our bed frames. 90% of our costumers easily build them up on their own. In case you do not want to build it up on your own, you can book our full service.

Choosing the right futon

How do you mainly use the sofa? For sitting or sleeping? Daily or for guests?

The simpler the frame and the higher your weight, the stronger the futon should be in case you sleep on it frequently. Conversely, this means that the lighter you are and the more valuable the frame, the lighter and more filigree your futon can be.

Futon sofas since 1986

I have been making futon sofas since 1986, at that time one of the first and most successful. With the futon boom of the late 80s and the fascination with the new, fresh, colourful, lively and natural way of sitting, lying and sleeping, the products were almost euphorically snatched from our hands or from the shops. After decades of industrial standard stuff, our products were an aesthetic as well as ergonomic revelation and it was part of the good tone of a generation to own a futon. And those who had little space or were minimalistically oriented had their futon on a sofa frame, for multifunctional use.
Since then, a lot has happened, the number of suppliers had increased rapidly in the meantime and the quality had decreased noticeably, which in turn caused the enthusiasm to fade and around 2010, the futon sofa had reached its nadir, but was still ever-present. Especially in our clientele, i.e. people with a qualitative as well as ecological demand, futon sofa beds were or are always in demand.
In recent years, the demand has been increasing noticeably. The change in society towards more people living alone and the associated shortage of living space certainly contributes to this, as does a certain change in consciousness towards more functionality and mobility. And if I can have a futon sofa in futon factory quality and sit, lie down, sleep and enjoy watching at a high level and the whole thing ends up costing less than a conventional standard solution, then it's great.

In autumn 2023, there will be a new edition of the very simple, first futon sofa model, which at the time was called Relax, a lengthwise folding sofa, i.e. 140cm wide and folding lengthwise. The demand for such simple, low-priced models is great, as is the joy that the good, honest products are still (and again) in demand.
