Some slatted frames are just not sufficient, for example if the slats are too far apart or some of the slats are worn out. It could also be the mattress being too thin, causing the slatted frame to be felt underneath. For cases like these, a stabilizing undermatress can help by evening out deficits in the foundation and adding additional cushioning.
It is also suitable as a gym or relaxation mat/base and - with climate insertion wool - may even serve as a mattress for extreme hard surface stomach sleepers (although we advise regular sleepers against doing this).
The cushion body consists of a 5 cm thick rubber-coconut-mat (latex coated coconut fibres, 100% natural) - a stable, elastic material which fulfills that exact effect perfectly. It is enclosed by our original cotton satin in organic quality (GOTS), washable at 60°C.
The ventilation of the mattress / futon is barely limited.
When used on the floor, the Coconut Undermattress is an alternative to the Tatami, with more comfort and better ventilation, but doesn't suffice as sole ventilation.
From 160/200 cm (on request from 140/200 cm), the coconut mat on the inside is split into two parts for easier handling.
