FUTON DX2

... a delicate, in its proportions strikingly beautiful futon of great strength.

It was originally designed as a matt for Futon sofas, but over time it has become a popular sleeping pad for light weight people (up to 70 kg /person), established for stomach sleepers and those who want to consistently lie firm, without being hard-thanks to the natural rubber. This bordered on both sides by horsehair natural latex core brings a soft cushioning with it, which keeps the natural fibers in motion and provides lasting comfort.

This futon is also available in vegan (coconut instead of horsehair, cotton instead of wool); makes DX2 much firmer!
Organic cotton upgrade possible for a surcharge of 10%. Please note in the comment field (order will then be adjusted manually).

Regular turning, occasional rolling and especially good airing makes FUTON DX2 lasts a long time in that form.
You can also sleep on FUTON DX2 with 80 kg body weight (person) if you are a stomach sleeper or appreciate consistently firm sleep.
FUTON DX2 lies best on tatami, rigid slatted or ergoVlex.

(**) Short info: Coconut fibre or horse hair? The noticeable difference between coconut fibre and horse hair is very, that you can make the decision according to personal taste. Horsehair is something animal and more supple, coconut is vegetable, odorless and more ecological, ... more details can be found in Glossary and at Materials / Commodities
The processing for futon fleece is identical, and the climate Properties in the futon.
Only at the FUTON DX 2, and the Zen Shiatsu futons it can be felt that the coconut fiber is minimal more fixed.

We have always offered vegan futons (without animal fibers), so of course all our futons can be bought vegan as well. However, the functional quality of the futon is reduced as a result of not using (our clean alpine) wool. The futon requires more care and tends to be harder - an effect that is reinforced by the coconut fibers.
If you live vegan, simply select your favorite futon and order it vegan - the option for it will appear once you selected your desired dimensions and form. We will process cotton (on request also hemp, but this makes the futon harder) instead of wool and coconut instead of horsehair, and the price remains the same.

  • 4 cm natural rubber -100% natural rubber, extra firm, builds the base, caters for soft elasticity and consistent comfort
  • 2 x 1000g/sqm horsehair - it’s elastic and especially breathable, easily transports moist outside
    if desired: coconut instead of horsehair (no extra cahrge)
  • 2 x 1000g/sqm cotton - it’s cuddly and climatically active, caters for a comfy dry bed
  • 2 x > 500g/sqm fleece wool - in alpine quality, builds the hygiene filter, absorbs moisture and cleans sustainably
  • The cover - from fine, strong organic cotton satin, GOTS (300g/sqm), that lets the material keep its flexibility in its core
  • The point stabled - from 5 rows of special threads that keep everything together without getting involved

All futons are available in different forms:
Without handles (small, light models like the most TWIN futons),
with turning flaps (the most futon mattresses)
and with edge / turning handles (the heavier models).

At 140x200cm handles are useful for handling, absolutely recommended for the heavy qualities. At 160x200cm they're almost necessary to move the futon mattress for turning and airing out.
The models Biofuton DW 6.1 / DW 6.2 are fundamentaly fabricated in the variant edge / turning handles.
Some other models are also available in the variant ‚with edge and turning handles‛ (may be displayed).

Our futons are basically natural, undyed, because we weave a strong cloth from fine organic cotton, in a noble satin weave, which meets all requirements and dyeing would affect the material. If you would like color on the futon (e.g. for use as a sofa), please do so with the additional protective cover, colored.
