Zen R2+6 is a powerful mat, which is sufficient as a sleeping surface for light futon sleepers. The "climate regulation" in this futon can be described as optimal, since it is made with good diffusive natural materials. The feeling when laying on this futon is pleasant and cozy - the cozyness fades with time. That's why this mat needs to be loosened up occasionally (rolled up / turned around) and needs to be aired well - this will keep the mat good for a long time.
In combination with a Yasumi 3+2, it results in a very comfortable TWIN Futon combination which provides fine comfort even to heavy people and provides two surfaces of different feel - depending on the mood.

"Coconut fiber or horse hair?
A perceptible difference between coconut fiber and horse hair is minor, allowing your choice to be made according your personal taste.
Horse hair is an animal fiber and a bit more flexible, coconut fiber is a vegetable fiber, off odors and a bit more eco-friendly. The product preparation cleaning and care is the same, just as its "climate" regulation properties in a futon. Further information you can find in our Glossary

The Zen Collection
Zen futons are made of 100% natural materials. Wool, with or without horsehair or cotton with coconut (vegan). Or three fibres, cleverly combined.
According to demand and use the Zen mats can be perceived as smooth or robust, but they are always completely natural, climate active and flexible.
In combination with another Zen or a , a comfortable TWIN Futon can be achieved; for this purpose, particularly the variants with horsehair or coconut are suited. The most popular combination: Yasumi 3+2 with Zen R2+6.

Handles assist in lifting heavy mattresses for turning and airing out.
On light Zen and Yasumi futons having handles would be annoyingly prominent and wouldn't improve use.
For the strong types, especially in large sizes, handles help with handling.
Standard / without handles
The classic futon shape: Top and bottom meet halfway to the seam. Recommended for light / small futons and for futons on a futon sofa.

Our futons are basically natural, undyed, because we weave a strong cloth from fine organic cotton, in a noble satin weave, which meets all requirements and dyeing would affect the material. If you would like color on the futon (e.g. for use as a sofa), please do so with the additional protective cover, colored.
